Born into a successful musical family Tenny Ten spent most of his youth backstage at his parents’ concerts, observing in the recording studio or watching them both on TV. His future was shaped and he started writing and performing at the age of 10.
Tenny writes contagious melodies combined with intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics approaching subjects untouched by most. His larger-than-life live performance is faultless and the charisma he displays within moments of hitting the stage is unrivalled.
Previous/recent gigs include: The VIP reception at the MOBO Awards; headline act Carlton TV awards, September 2009 support for Sugababes & JLS; Jools Holland’s ‘Jamhouse’; Midlands Music festival, G-Cap Radio headline Donnington Park, Trafalgar Square ‘Day of Peace’ as well as video rotation on MTV Base,Channel A.K.A and countless appearances on Baltic States TV cumilating in chart no.2 collaboration, January 09.
The most respected UK hip hop magazine ‘Hip Hop Connection’ announced on a 2 page spread that, “If magical talent has any influence on success then Tenny (aka 10Shott) is the future of UK rap”. Radio 1's Tim Westwood when praising a 10Shott ident said on air, “You can tell you’re big in the game when you get sent drops like this”. Radio 1’s Ras Kwame chose 10Shott’s ‘Talkin American’ for a 2009 UK Homegrown Podcast.
Tenny’s team of producers have had over 30 UK hit records , are currently working with other major UK pop/hip hop crossover artists and the team are convinced that Tenny’s highly anticipated debut album - the aptly named ‘2010Shott’ - will prove to be a seminal piece of work.
2010 sees Tenny’s first Japanese release ‘Designer Girl’ (taken from the forthcoming album), he has a collaboration track featured on new movie from Gurinda ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ Chardra and his recent trips to LA have resulted in negotiations of substantial sync's/collaborations through Notting Hill Music as well as approaches and discussions with 2 major labels.
2010 will literally prove to be the year of the 10 and will commence with Tenny supporting Chipmunk on his Feb/March UK tour accompanied by the release of Tenny’s fully supported UK single (the energetic and powerful ‘Oh My Dayz’), scheduled for release at the beginning of March 2010.
